The Scene: Arc of Stark County Premier Event
They rolled out the red carpet at the Palace Theatre in Canton Wednesday evening for the Premier 2011 Event, a fundraiser for The Arc of Stark County’s programs and services for the developmentally disabled and their families.Executive Director Ron Klonowski thanked everyone for their support, plus co-chairwomen Connie Calhoun and Linda Sklar and their committee. Artist George Parmelee drew caricatures of the guests, including 11-year old Ethan Young and his parents, Jim and Beth Young. Frank and Debbie Gonzales and their son, Greg, enjoyed the buffet served by AA Executive Catering, as did Family Court Judge Rosemarie Hall, her husband, Charlie Hall, Steven and Diana Pittman, Mitch and Sheila Ciccarone, Rich Kase, Quinn Parker, Donna Bishop, Mike Griffith, Linda and Paul Snyder, Joann and Ned Wenger, Kathy Catazaro-Perry and her husband, Dr. Tony Perry.Brad Crosier chaired the entertainment committee and brought along “Goldie Hawn,” portrayed by Kylie Gambone, Natalie James as “Lucille Ball,” and “Minnie Pearl,” portrayed by Ariel Bryan. They circulated through the crowd greeting their fans, while Raymond Wesley and Margaret Harrity sold raffle tickets.Kayleigh Kriss of WHBC (94.1-FM) introduced the show, which featured the comedic and magic talents of Tim Wright, Dave Kaplan and Mike Bishop, who later was the auctioneer for tours and tickets to sporting events.Spotted in the crowd were Laurie and Ron Branch, Tammy and Steve Lamiell, Matt Leuenberger, Dan Griffith, Laura and K.C. Laubacher, Phyllis Maio and Jeanne Youngdahl.Klonowski said The Arc will host an Autism Forum on Nov. 2, and the Grape Possibilities Wine Tasting in January.
